MSBA members recently reported receiving emails from individuals seeking legal assistance and claiming that they obtained their information “based on recommendations from MSBA.” Note that MSBA does not share member information for solicitation. If you have any questions or concerns about a suspicious message, please do not click on any links, open any attachments, or respond to the sender. Instead, please contact us at info@msba.org and we will respond to you about the message.

Over the last several months, MSBA members have also reported receiving suspicious emails from someone attempting to impersonate MSBA leaders and seeking financial assistance or gift cards. Remember that this is a phishing scam similar to what Bars and associations across the country are experiencing and is not a legitimate email. Phishing emails may be sent to you via a masked email address appearing to be from someone you know when in fact it is not that individual. Phishing emails generally ask you to take some action, such as clicking on a link, asking you to perform a financial transaction, or requesting passwords. Please be cautious when you view any oddly written emails or requests, as phishing attacks are happening frequently and have been on the rise since the COVID-19 pandemic.
