The MSBA is excited to offer several new programs as part of Legal Excellence Week, including an Ethics, Civility & Professionalism Symposium on Friday, November 18, 2022, at 9:00 am.

Bar Counsel Lydia Lawless and other knowledgeable faculty will discuss numerous ethical topics throughout the day, including the effect of implicit bias on the outcome of cases, issues that commonly complicate the practice of estate planning law, and the challenges transactional attorneys face when handling multi-party deals. The day will end with a bit of levity, as Joey Novick, The Improvisational Lawyer, demonstrates how improv skills can increase a lawyer’s success in proceedings and improve communication with clients and opposing counsel.

In addition to learning more about ethics and civility, attendees will earn at least five ethics credits with the surrounding MCLE states.
