JOHN H. DENICK has joined the Business and Real Estate teams at Gordon Feinblatt LLC. Denick brings more than 35 years of experience in various practice areas, including business law, real estate, dispute resolution, estate planning and probate, and personal injury. He is a skilled negotiator and a court approved mediator, and a Maryland licensed real estate broker.

He attended law school at Nova Southeastern University and is a graduate of George Washington University.

SEAN GUGERTY has joined Goodell DeVries as a member of the firm’s Medical Malpractice and Appellate Law Practice Groups. His practice is focused primarily on defending health care providers and health care institutions in medical malpractice claims before the Health Care Alternative Dispute Office of Maryland, the Circuit Courts of Maryland, Maryland’s appellate courts, the Superior Court of Washington, D.C., and federal courts. Sean also defends companies that manufacture and sell over-the-counter medications and was part of the briefing team that obtained dismissal of over 1,300 cases filed against generic manufacturer defendants in the Zantac MDL (MDL No. 2924). Before joining the firm, Sean was the law clerk to the Honorable Joseph M. Getty, Chief Judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals. He also clerked for the Honorable Peter B. Krauser, Chief Judge of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals (Ret.), and the Honorable Sherrie R. Bailey, Associate Judge of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County.Sean is a graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland (B.A., summa cum laude, 2011) and the University of Maryland, School of Law (J.D., 2015), where he earned a concentration in health law.

CHAD M. HORTON has been made a Partner at the Baltimore-based and top-ranked employment and labor law firm Shawe Rosenthal LLP. Horton represents both unionized and union-free employers in a full range of labor and employee relations matters, including court and administrative proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and the Department of Labor.

A magna cum laude graduate of Ithaca College and Tulane University Law School, Horton is a member of the American Bar Association, the ABA’s Section of Labor and Employment Law, and the New York State Bar Association.

JOSEPH S. JOHNSTON has joined Goodell DeVries as a member of the firm’s Medical Malpractice Practice Group. Joe considers it an honor to represent nurses, physicians, and hospitals, including several of the world-class hospitals in the Baltimore and D.C. area, in defending against medical malpractice claims and guiding them through the litigation process. Joe has jury trial experience in defending against medical malpractice and dental malpractice claims in Maryland, experience arguing motions in Maryland Circuit Courts, and appellate court experience arguing appeals in the Maryland Court of Special Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He also has extensive experience in participating in mediation, and experience with other forms of alternative dispute resolution such as binding arbitration. Joe holds degrees from the University of Baltimore School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2007), where he was Editor in Chief of the University of Baltimore Law Review, and Franklin & Marshall College (B.A. 2002). After law school, he completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable James R. Eyler at the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.

TY KELLY of Baker Donelson has been elected by the Firm’s shareholders to serve as a member of the Firm’s board of directors for a three-year term. She practices out of Baker Donelson’s Washington, D.C. and Baltimore offices.

CHRISTOPHER J. REGAN has been named partner at Regan Zambri Long PLLC, where his practice focuses on representing clients that have suffered catastrophic injuries as a result of someone else’s negligence. Since joining the firm in 2013, he has successfully handled a variety of personal injury cases including car accidents, defective product design, medical malpractice, and consumer fraud. Regan has built a strong track record of outstanding results for his clients, including numerous seven- and eight-figure verdicts and settlements.

A graduate of Duke University, Regan earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School. He completed an externship for the Hon. Judge Ricardo M. Urbina (ret.) of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Before coming to Regan Zambri Long, he worked as a law clerk for Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger.

JASON M. ST. JOHN has been elected Managing Partner of the national firm Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr, and will serve as its next Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Mr. St. John will guide the firm’s strategic focus, growth and operations, as well as seek to enhance business development and direct activities through its 16 offices across the United States.

An active leader in the Baltimore community, Mr. St. John currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, the Chair of the Industry-Specific Committee of the Baltimore County Economic Development Advisory Board (which is focused on customizing economic development strategies for key industry sectors with high-wage job potential), and the Director on the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law Board of Visitors.

KATHY STUMP has joined Carney, Kelehan, Bresler, Bennett & Scherr LLP as an attorney with a practice focusing on education law. Stump brings experience in both law and education. Prior to joining CarneyKelehan, she was an instructional facilitator for nonpublic services and special education compliance for the Howard County Public School System. She facilitated due process and mediation, conducted investigations, represented schools, developed policies, ensured compliance with the state and federal regulations, provided legal guidance and supported counsel for the school system.

Previously, Stump was an educational program specialist for the Baltimore City Public School System, an educational program specialist and special education compliance specialist for the Maryland State Department of Education, and a teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools, the Maryland Correctional Training Center, and Washington County Public Schools.

Stump earned her law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law, her Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from Loyola University Maryland and her Bachelor of Arts in English literature from High Point University.
