JESSICA AYD has been elected partner at Goodell DeVries. A member of the firm’s Medical Malpractice Practice Group, Ayd focuses her practice on the defense of health care providers and institutions. She has experience in all aspects of complex civil litigation in matters before state and federal courts and has served as first chair in several jury trials. Prior to joining Goodell DeVries, Ayd was a civil litigation attorney at a private law firm where she practiced general liability defense, medical malpractice defense, and construction law. Before entering private practice, she was a law clerk for the Honorable Arlene Coppadge and the Honorable Robert Coonin of Family Court of the State of Delaware. She also served as a volunteer for the United States Peace Corps in the Republic of the Fiji Islands, where she served as Health Promotion Advocate at the Lelean Memorial School. In that role, Jessica designed and facilitated adolescent reproductive health classes. Ayd has been recognized in Best Lawyers – Ones to Watch for Construction, Insurance, and Transportation Law and in Maryland Super Lawyers – Rising Stars for Civil Litigation Defense. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland, School of Law (J.D., 2011) and the University of Maryland College Park (B.A., summa cum laude, 2006).
JOEL DEWEY, a trial lawyer and appellate advocate, has joined Baker Donelson as a shareholder in the Firm’s Complex Torts Group. Dewey is a graduate of Harvard Law School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He focuses his practice on the preparation, trial, and appeal of complex product liability and class action cases, many of which involve complicated technological issues. A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Dewey has appeared as lead trial counsel in major jury trials in numerous state and federal courts nationwide and has argued appeals in various federal circuits and state appellate courts. He has also appeared as lead counsel for manufacturers in nationwide class actions in state and federal courts. Dewey represents numerous Fortune 500 and international corporations and has been selected as national and regional trial counsel for many of these clients. His practice also includes counseling technology companies and product manufacturers in risk management, analysis, and prevention. Dewey is certified as a mediator by the Harvard School Program of Instruction for Lawyers. He has also served as a mediator for the Baltimore City Mediation Program.
JAMES R. JEFFCOAT has been named partner of Whiteford, Taylor & Preston. Jeffcoat focuses his practice on civil litigation in federal and state courts, including admiralty and maritime disputes and personal injury litigation. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Jeffcoat served as an officer on U.S. flag merchant ships on coastwise and foreign voyages. He currently holds a 1600 ton Master’s License. The Maryland Port Director of the South Eastern Admiralty Law Institute, and a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the Propeller Club of Baltimore, and the International Organization of Masters, Mates & Pilots, he is based in the firm’s Baltimore, Maryland, office.
KAYLEIGH KEILTY was elected as partner at Saul Ewing. Keilty assists both businesses and individuals with civil litigation, including commercial disputes, complex insurance coverage and premises liability. Her experience includes cases in both state and federal courts throughout Maryland and various other jurisdictions. She has participated in trials, argued motions, and taken numerous depositions. Kayleigh also uses alternative dispute resolution to address these legal disputes, and has participated in over 200 cases as an attorney advocate. Her status as a certified mediator also informs her work advising clients in settlement discussions and providing perspective on what may constitute a favorable result.
JUDYANN M. LEE has become a partner at McMillan Metro, P.C. In practice since 1998, Lee joined McMillan Metro in 2016. Her primary practice area is commercial real estate, including the
development and operation of residential and commercial projects, such as homeowners’ associations, commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects, condominiums, and cooperatives. She is licensed in Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, New York, and Florida.
SCOTT S. LLOYD has joined Gordon Feinblatt LLC as a member of the Intellectual Property team. He brings more than 15 years of experience in the intellectual property and techology space. His industry experience includes biopharma, medical devices, software and agriculture, among others, in particular with emerging markets. Lloyd represents clients before several regulatory agencies including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory bodies. Scott is admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Court of International Trade and he is admitted to practice in Maryland, Connecticut and the District of Columbia. He attended the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, Georgetown University for his M.S. degree in Molecular Biology and Loyola College for a B.S. degree in Biology.
KELCIE LONGAKER has joined Gordon Feinblatt LLC as a member of the firm’s Business, EMERGE, and Health Care practices. She brings more than 14 years of experience in business and health care law. Longaker has significant experience representing clients in the medical field, as well as advising clients in drafting complex transactional agreements and structuring corporate governance. She works closely with businesses that have specialized licenses or approvals such as liquor licenses and federal contracts. She attended University of Kansas School of Law and the University of Kansas College of Liberal Arts and Sciences where she was awarded a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History. Kelcie is admitted to practice in Maryland and Missouri.
KENNETH J. LUND has been named partner at Whiteford, Taylor & Preston. Lund has extensive experience in delivering value-additive legal services to the mining, energy and construction industries, first as a partner with a global law firm and then as General Counsel for three international companies, including a publicly traded company. As a member of the firm’s Business Solutions, Restructuring and Financial Litigation practice, clients retain Lund for his ability to translate broad and substantive legal knowledge into practical, business-oriented solutions to complex commercial, legal and restructuring matters. Lund most recently represented the general contractor in the Chapter 11 filing of the developer of a contemplated headquarters and practice facility for the Carolina Panthers NFL franchise. He has also served on court-appointed committees and is based in the firm’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, office.
JEAN LEWIS, a principal of Kramon & Graham, P.A., is among the 61 recent graduates of The Leadership Class of 2022. The Leadership is a highly regarded 9-month experiential leadership program that provides talented professionals from diverse backgrounds an opportunity to strengthen their capacity to lead, particularly in a civic context, and provides a platform for collective action.
Lewis joins more than 1,800 alumni who preceded the class of 2022. Throughout her 30-year career, Lewis has been a devoted advocate for education and social service initiatives for the disenfranchised. She began her legal career as a public defender and as a staff attorney at Legal Services for Children in San Francisco. She came to Kramon & Graham in 2000 and since then has worked on various boards serving Baltimore residents. Since 2010, she has served on the board of directors of the Job Opportunities Task Force and the Rose Street Community Center. She has been a board member of the Fund for Educational Excellence since 2013. Lewis currently co-chairs Kramon & Graham’s Commercial Litigation group. Her clients include multinational law firms, corporate directors and officers, businesses, and local governments. In addition to trying jury trials in courts around the country, Jean represents clients in commercial arbitrations and internal investigations. Her impressive results have led to professional honors including recognition by Chambers USA, Lawdragon, Benchmark Litigation, and The Best Lawyers in America. In 2020, Lewis was named by The Daily Record as one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women.
EVAN MONOD joined Brown, Goldstein & Levy as the Disability Rights Fellow in September 2022. He is a disability rights advocate with a passion for justice for the vulnerable members of his community. Prior to joining the firm, Monod worked as the Law Fellow at the American Constitution Society. While at ACS, he assisted the Policy and Programs department in writing and editing policy briefs and publications, creating panels and events for the ACS National Convention, and hosting episodes of their podcast. He became known as the go-to guy for constitutional, immigration, and disability rights law.
Monod graduated with honors from the George Washington University Law School in May 2021. He served as the Senior Notes Editor for the Public Contract Law Journal, where he managed a team of student editors and made selections for publication of student Notes. His own Note on disability affirmative action hiring in federal contracting was published in the Fall 2020 issue of the Public Contract Law Journal. While in law school, Monod had summer internships with Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities and the Disability Rights Section of the U.S. Department of Justice. He also served as a disability policy intern for Chairwoman Patty Murray on the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.
AARON A. NICHOLS has been named partner at Whiteford, Taylor & Preston. Nichols represents businesses nationwide in a broad range of complex business disputes, including cases involving antitrust and trade regulation, securities, intellectual property, class actions, and insurance coverage and defense. He serves as outside general counsel to several businesses locally and nationally. Mr. Nichols sits on the Firm’s e-discovery committee and is a committee member of Fort Meade Alliance Rising Stars and an organizing member of the BVC (Baltimore Venture Capital). He is based in the firm’s Baltimore, Maryland, office.
JAMES PHELAN ROBINSON has been elected partner Goodell DeVries. A member of the firm’s Medical Malpractice and Appellate practice groups. James defends health care providers and health care institutions, including nursing homes and hospitals, as well as insurance companies in all phases of medical malpractice claims, from commencement to completion. Before joining Goodell DeVries, James worked as civil litigation attorney at an Annapolis-based law firm where he practiced medical malpractice defense. Prior to entering private practice, Robinson served as a law clerk to the Honorable Shirley M. Watts of the Supreme Court of Maryland. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable William C. Mulford, II of the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County.
Robinson is Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Bar Association of Baltimore City. He also serves as the Baltimore City representative to the Young Lawyers Section of the Maryland State Bar Association. He has been recognized in Maryland Super Lawyers – Rising Stars in the Medical Malpractice Defense and Civil Litigation Defense categories. JORDAN ROSENFELD has been elected partner of Saul Ewing. Rosenfeld assists clients with complex commercial litigation, particularly in disputes involving real estate development and projects built through public-private partnerships. His experience includes representing colleges and universities, Fortune 100 companies, small businesses, and individuals in various forums in different states, and before the federal government. Jordan has won at trial in Maryland’s state and federal courts. He has also acted as lead counsel in arbitration, and participated in other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

JUSTIN E. TEPE has been elected partner at Goodell DeVries. A co-founder of the firm’s Cannabis Law practice, Tepe represents licensed entities and ancillary businesses in the cannabis industry. He advises cannabis clients as regulatory advisor and as outside general counsel on matters ranging from employment law and contract negotiations to commercial disputes and transactions. Tepe defends cannabis clients in regulatory enforcement actions before the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission. He also assists clients in developing compliant operating procedures, drafting management agreements and applications for licenses, and in corporate governance and formation.
Before joining Goodell DeVries, Tepe worked as a lobbyist in Annapolis, Maryland, and previously worked for a Mid-Atlantic law firm representing clients in general tort litigation. Before entering private practice, Tepe served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Shannon E. Avery of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. CARRIE J. WILLIAMS has joined Goodell DeVries‘s Appellate Practice Group. A renowned appellate lawyer, Williams brings extraordinary appellate expertise from her 16-year tenure at the Maryland Office of the Attorney General. There, she headed the criminal appellate division, serving as Principal Counsel for Criminal Policy and, before that, Division Chief of the Criminal Appeals Division. As head of a State appellate division, Williams argued more than 50 cases before the Supreme Court of Maryland (Court of Appeals) and hundreds of cases in the Appellate Court of Maryland (Court of Special Appeals). She even briefed a handful cases at the United States Supreme Court.
Williams graduated in the top 2% of her class at the University of Maryland School of Law in 2003, where she served as the Maryland Law Review Articles Editor. An active member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Williams frequently participates in panels on brief writing, oral advocacy, and developments in Maryland appellate practice. From 2014 to 2022, she taught Introduction to Advocacy as an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Baltimore School of Law.
HEATHER K. YEUNG has joined Davis, Agnor, Rapaport & Skalny, LLC, to primarily support its busy Business Planning & Transactions Practice Group; Yeung will also lend support to the firm’s commercial litigators in business disputes. She comes to the firm with a background in commercial and construction litigation, and in assisting the needs of small businesses. Prior to joining Heather served as litigation counsel at a boutique firm in Annapolis and as a commercial litigation and creditor’s rights associate at a small firm in Columbia.
KAITLIN R. ZARRO has been named a partner of Whiteford, Taylor & Preston, where she handles real estate and corporate transactions. She represents commercial real estate developers and commercial property owners in all aspects of commercial real estate including leasing, sales and acquisitions across Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region.
