The Lawyer Assistance Program is available to all lawyers in Maryland. Everyone experiences personal or work related problems at some point. Early intervention is the key to resolving these concerns. We have a network of counselors throughout the state.  The Lawyer Assistance Program is committed to providing assistance to lawyers, judges, law students, the legal community and their families by offering assessment, referral, short-term counseling, and continued support to ensure long term success.

Confidentiality

Federal and state law ensures the confidentiality of those who seek assistance through our program or those who have been referred to the Lawyers Assistance Program. In addition, Rule 8.3 in The Maryland Lawyers’ Rules of Professional Conduct and Attorney Trust Accounts protects the confidentiality of lawyers using the program.
