MSBA continues to to update members on deadlines, including scheduling order deadlines and filings for civil and family law matters. Many jurisdictions have communicated guidance on deadlines in civil and family law matters, including Carroll County. Administrative Judge Hecker has issued an Administrative Order on 3/27 addressing these issues.
- The Order suspends deadlines in all Scheduling Orders in civil and family law matters in Carroll County Circuit Court and extends them by the number of business days that the Court is operating under restricted operations due to COVID-19.
- Civil assignment may administratively postpone and reset pretrial conferences and trial dates in civil and family law cases where either the pretrial conference or the trial date is currently scheduled for a date prior to May 4, 2020, or where the pretrial conference cannot practically be re-set prior to the trial date.
- Any requests for postponement of either the pretrial conference, trial date, or any other hearing date in civil and family law cases shall be presented to the Court by motion in accordance with the Court’s postponement policy.
